FAQs

When do the materials expire?

Although most of our products have a 3-5 year shelf life, some products (Dermabond, Lidocaine, IV Fluids) have a shorter period before expiration, as assigned by the manufacturer. Our commitment is to provide you with materials that expire no sooner than 3 months from your date of purchase, unless indicated on the product page. Most supplies will far exceed this expiration period.

Where are the materials purchased from?

All components of Provider Prepared Laceration Repair Kits are purchased from reputable US-based companies, such as Ethicon, Covidien, 3M, Halyard, Henry Schein, McKesson, Mar-Med Co., etc.

Can anyone purchase these products?

The FDA requires a medical device be "sold by or on the order of a physician." The business entity, Provider Prepared, is selling the products on this website.

Some products, like an empty medical bag, a SAM splint, or Gift Card, are not medical devices and do not require a medical license for purchase.

However, most of the products are or contain medical devices. A licensed medical provider (physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, dentist, veterinarian) may purchase these devices under their own license.
